Everything we know (so far) about OnePlus 7

Published

on

OnePlus launched its last smartphone OnePlus 6T at the end of 2018. The Chinese manufacturer is already working on the OnePlus 7 smartphone though it has been keeping mum over the improvements on its predecessor.

OnePlus 7 design

Currently, there are no official photos of the device but according to a new leaked photo, it will ditch the notch and go for an all-screen design. This may also mean the company will opt for a slider mechanism to hide the front camera and other sensors. Since the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T featured a glass back, the OnePlus 7 will probably sport the same.

OnePlus 7 specifications

The specifications of this device are still unknown and based on rumours and speculations. The company did revealed that its next phone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. Many flagships that will be launching this year will reach the 10GB RAM benchmark, so we can expect it to have one variant to have 10GB RAM if not all.

Another rumour is that it will be one of the first 5G phones to be released this year. A triple camera setup is also expected to be present at the rear. It might include an in-screen fingerprint sensor and Wireless Charging feature.

OnePlus 7 Expected Price

OnePlus 6T was launched with a price tag of $549 / £499/ AU$599 and there is a trend of a price increase with a launch of the next iteration. So we can expect it cost at least that much if not more. Another rumour claimed that the price of the OnePlus 5G smartphone will start from $649 which is higher than the OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 7 Released Date

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 6 in May last year. So, we can expect it to be arrive sometime in the middle of 2019. However, the company clarified that will be releasing another 5G smartphone this year which may led to early or delayed launch of the OnePlus 7.

Consumers in US might be able to buy the OnePlus 7 from a carrier for the first time as confirmed by the company’s CEO and founder Pete Lau adding that it was possible thanks to its relationship with chipmaker Qualcomm. The OnePlus 7 will be releasing the first 5G phone in Europe. The company is joining hands with UK EE network to launch 5G devices this year but the smartphone identity is still a mystery.
