Everything You Need To Know About Raising Dion Season 2!

Raising Dion is a superhero drama series that premiered October 4, 2019, on Netflix. The show generally received positive reviews. This show is based on the 2015 comic book and a short film of the same name by Dennis Liu. Netflix renewed the series for a second season in January 2020.

Rotten Tomatoes gave the show an average rating of 6.75/10. The website’s consensus read, “While its family drama and superhero aspirations don’t quite come together, compelling performances and a sense of wonder keep Raising Dion afloat and suggest that with a little more guidance it could become something great.”

When Is Raising Dion Season 2 Expected To Release On Netflix?

Along with the announcement of the renewal, Netflix also announced that filming will begin sometime in 2020! Season 2’s filming is set to take place in Georgia. And it was announced in Georgia that filming can start from July 8, 2020. Taking all this into consideration, we can say that season 2 might come out in 2021!

What Is The Expected Story For Season 2?

Raising Dion is the story of a woman named Nicole who raises her son Dion after the death of her husband Mark. Dion starts to display magical, superhero-like abilities and increases the problems for his mother. The rest of the story is about how Nicole keeps his powers a secret with Pat. She also has the responsibility of protecting Dion from people out to exploit his abilities.

Season one’s last episode was a real rollercoaster ride! It was filled with twists and turns like every other episode of the season. We found out that Pat is the Crooked Man! He tries to heal himself with Dion’s abilities in the final episode but is defeated by Dion and his team. Then Dion’s father Mark appears, he’s not alive nor is he dead. But Dion vows to bring Mark back to life. The season then ends on a farm after a cut to black. The farmer’s wife has been killed and the farmer’s son Brayden comes out of the house. A storm gushes around and goes into him! It seems like Brayden is possessed by Pat.

Season 1 of Raising Dion left fans with a few questions though. How will Dion keep up his vow to his father? Will he be able to defeat Pat again? What new troubles await for our little superhero? We can only speculate and wait until season 2 arrives!

Who Will We See In Season 2?

Apart from the main cast which includes Alisha Wainwright, Ja’Siah Young, Jason Ritter, there is a new addition doing the rounds. Sources say that Jacqueline Cureton will be joining the cast as ‘Upcoming Grandmother’.
