Have you ever wondered when and where would you be meeting your ‘the one’, and that through the impression of music? Weird, right? But the new spin-off of American dating show The Bachelors shows you the weirdness and how impossibles can turn into possibles. The Bachelor Presents: Listen to Your Heart, a dating reality television series, created by Mike Fleiss for ABC aims at exploring and creating relationships through the art of strains and chords, unlike many other dating reality shows. The structure follows single men and women, who are musicians or work in the music industry and are in search of their “true love”. The contestants will sing well-known songs, both individually and as couples, and explore their relationships while living together.
The Bachelors was premiered on April 13, 2020, which was produced by Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television, with Fleiss, Martin Hilton, Nicole Woods, Bennett Graebner, Peter Gust, Tim Warner, Louis Caric, and Peter Geist serving as executive producers. The show is full of drama and chaos, much expected from any typical reality show. But the banters are lessened to some extent with the soothing touch of music, which kind of healed many problems among the participants. But must say, that the TRP of the show is quite high and imposing.
The adding of the show literally formed a new franchise of The Bachelors, with the existing The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor in Paradise. But the twist here is that once they couples commence their dating lives, their strength of the bond is tested through musical challenges, including live performances judged by top names in the music business. The performances will be evaluated based on whether they reveal the couple’s love and devotion to one another.
ABC Entertainment President Karey Burke says about the show, “Think The Bachelor in Paradise meets A Star Is Born. This is an evolution of The Bachelor franchise. It is an attempt to capture what we all know, which is that love and emotion and music are intertwined.“
