The pandemic situation in the world has halted almost all of Netflix’s movies and series. The Witcher Season 2 is not an exception. But we have all recent updates about the new season the successful ‘The Witcher’. Here is everything you need to know about The Witcher Season 2!
The Witcher 2 is one of the most entertaining upcoming series on Netflix. But as with any other Netflix show, the production of this series is also halted. So the expected release date is somewhere between August 2021 and September 2021.
Who are the directors?
Surprisingly, the directors of Season one did not give a comeback. The team has brought in a set of four new directors for the second installment. Ed Bazalgette, Sarah O’ Gorman, Stephen Surjik, and Geeta Patel form the directorial team of The Witcher Season 2. The writer of the series, Lauren S. Hissrich conveyed to Reddit AMA, “We don’t yet have a target launch date for Season two, ago 2021.” The filming of The Witcher Season 2 began in Scotland, then moved to London, and finally in many parts of Eastern Europe. The filming began in February 2020. Then the production met the Stop Board because one of the cast members Kristofer Hivju of Game of Thrones fame tested positive for Coronavirus. Later, he and his wife recovered. Fans expect that the production will resume later in September 2020.
What is Platige Image saying about The Witcher Season 2?
Platige Image is the special effects company behind The Witcher. It works in the new season too. According to one of its reports released on April 27, this year, the episodes will be ready by July 2021. Previously, for season one, Platige completed the work in November 2019. Immediately within a month, the series hit the streaming platform. Following the same pattern, the second season reaches the audience by August 2021. The series has eight confirmed episodes.

What about the cast and plot of The Witcher 2?
In this season, Ciri will take over the lead role, taking us to Kaer Morhan. We can also have narratives at regular intervals. On February 21, 2020, Netflix announced the cast of the new series. Henry Cavill as Geralt and Freya Allan as Ciri continue to play the lead roles. Anya Chalotra, Joey Batey, and Eamon Farren will reprise their roles in the new season also. In the latest Netflix announcement, we can find new additions to the cast. Lambert and Coen’s roles are taken up by Paul Bullion and Yasen Atour, respectively. Ross, Simson, and Agnes Bjorn share the screen in the new season of The Witcher.

The new season will have Monster hunting and other themes obtained from Season one. But it assures that the new installment will not be as confusing as the first. Season one narrated multiple tales like an anthology. This is removed in the second season because of that annoyed viewers. The Witcher Season 2 will be simple and linear in time. The series is expected to arrive on Netflix in August 2021.
What is The Witcher anime movie?
The Witcher Season 2 is not alone. A new animated movie named ‘The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf’ will accompany the second part. But as of now, there is no release date for the movie. Beau Demayo writs the script for the movie. Studio Mir takes care of the Nightmare’s animation works.
So, it will be a double treat for The Witcher fans. But the show demands more than one year before it unleashes on the streaming platform.
