The Extraction Plot
The Extraction roughly translates to “Extra” “Action”. The story revolves around a black-market mercenary who has nothing to lose. He is hired to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord. But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible changing lives for almost all the interested parties. The supposed highlight of Extraction is a long-running action sequence with the reflection of “technical expertise” which is the only thing that the action fans haven’t seen.

The Cliché Continuum
The movie undoubtedly delivers on the action front but somehow tries to use it as over-compensation for the irregularities of the storyline. Sounds strange? Well, the film is said to have the plot of an action sequence of “80s” with no backstories and abrupt clichéd lines(the first line of the movie is “Hold My Beer”). The movie is being often compared by “The man of Fire” because of the clichéd He-Man like action which to today’s audience is too easy to be interesting.
The cast other than Hemsworth has Rudhraksh Jaiswal, David Harbour, Pankaj Tripathi, Manoj Bajpayee, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Marc Donato, Fay Masterson, and Derek Luke. It will be worth a watch to find out if Hemsworth’s actions can save Extraction from going down the “No Watch” list of many. Extraction is going live on Netflix on 24th April.
