After Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, there is going to be another addition to the wizarding movieverse that began with the Harry Potter film series. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3 was officially announced in November 2019. The yet-untitled film will be the third installment in a five-film series. Fantastic Beasts 3 will be set in Rio de Janeiro in the 1930s.

The Cast of Fantastic Beasts 3
Eddie Redmayne will be reprising his role of Newt Scamander from the previous two films. Jude Law will also be returning to his role of a young Albus Dumbledore. Katherine Waterson and Dan Fogler will also reprise their respective roles of Tina Goldstein and Jacob Kowalski. Zoe Kravitz, whose character Leta Lestrange was tragically killed by Grindelwald in the previous film, might not be in the third film. Although this isn’t confirmed yet, she might feature in the third film in some flashbacks.
Johnny Depp will also be reprising his role of Gellert Grindelwald, as will Callum Turner, in his role as Theseus Scamander. Other cast members from the second film who might return in the third film include Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone.

The screenplay of the third Fantastic Beasts film will be written by Steve Kloves, along with JK Rowling, the author of the books from which the movies have been inspired. David Yates, who directed the first Fantastic Beasts film, will be returning to direct the third film in the franchise. David Yates was also at the helm of the last four Harry Potter films.
Release Date of Fantastic Beasts 3
Warner Bros. announced the third Fantastic Beasts film in November of 2019. The shooting of the film was to begin in Rio de Janeiro in the spring of 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted that schedule. Currently, Fantastic Beasts 3 is set to release in theatres on November 12, 2021, but that date could change if shooting and post-production is not completed on time.
