Fatal Attraction: Release Date, Plot, and more!

Fatal Attraction is an upcoming erotic psychological thriller miniseries written by Alexandra Cunningham and Kevin J. Hynes. It is based on the 1987 film of the same name directed by Adrian Lyne and written by James Dearden.

Cunningham and Hynes are also the executive producers of the series along with Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank, Stanley R. Jaffe, Sherry Lansing, and Silver Tree. The series follows an affair that takes a volatile turn when the woman refuses to allow the married man to end the experience.

So, when the upcoming show is releasing? What is the plot? Who has been cast in the lead roles? Keep reading to know more.

Fatal Attraction Plot and Cast

In January 2022, when announcing the casting of Joshua Jackson is of the show’s lead roles, Paramount+ revealed that the upcoming series will be a reimagining of the original Fatal Attraction film but that it will explore the various themes of the movie like love, marriage, and infidelity “through the lens of modern attitudes” when it comes to the depiction of strong women, personality disorders, and coercive control.

These statements don’t give too much away about the scope and tone of the show but maybe it will have a more delicate touch than that of the original Fatal Attraction and the ending Glenn Close didn’t like.

Exactly how the Fatal Attraction creative team plans on offering a different perspective to the story (or possibly an alternate ending) and what changes will be made remains to be seen. Still, considering the track record of those involved, we should be in for something a little different than before.

The cast of the series includes Lizzy Caplan as Alex Forrest, Joshua Jackson as Dan Gallagher, Amanda Peet as Beth Gallagher, Alyssa Jirrels as Ellen Gallagher, Toby Huss as Mike Gerard, Reno Wilson as Det. Earl Booker, Brian Goodman as Arthur Tomlinson, and many more.

Fatal Attraction Release Date

A television series reboot of the film was first announced in February 2021, when Paramount Pictures announced they would be producing television versions of their films, naming Fatal Attraction as in development for Paramount+. In November, the series was officially given a series order.

Filming began in the summer of 2022. But the official release date of the series has yet to be confirmed.
