Created by Iginio Straffi for a British company, Archery Pictures that is producing the show in association with Rainbow, a studio co-owned by Iginio Straffi and ViacomCBS, and developed by Brian Young(Vampire Diaries), who is also the showrunner and executive producer, “Fate: The Winx Saga” is a teen drama series based on the Nickelodeon animated series Winx Club that made its debut on Friday, January 22, 2021, on Netflix.
Starring Abigail Cowen, Hannah van der Westhuysen, Precious Mustapha, Elisha Applebaum, Eliot Salt and Sadie Soverall, for the first time, the popular six fairies will turn into real teenagers learning to hone their powers while living together in a magic boarding school.
The show follows the coming-of-age journey of five fairies attending Alfea, a magical boarding school in the Otherworld where they must learn to master their enchanting powers while navigating love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their very existence.
Yes, in February 2021, the series was renewed for a second season! The next chapter in the saga could premiere sometime in 2022.
In an official statement and teaser clip on Netflix Facebook, showrunner Brian Young revealed a glimpse at what’s to come in the new season. “The six episodes in season one only scratched the surface of this incredibly rich world and the powerful fairies who inhabit it. As Bloom’s story continues to evolve, I can’t wait for you to learn even more about Aisha, Stella, Terra, and Musa! And you never know who might show up at Alfea next term…” Young said.
