Kevin Hart plays Matthew Logelin, a single father entrusted with parenting his daughter following the terrible death of his wife. The trailer promises an upbeat, heartwarming, and funny look at loss, family, and, in especially, a father’s beautiful bond with his daughter.
A father must battle to raise his child as a single father following the untimely death of his wife, who died a day after his baby girl is born, and this unusual experience teaches him a lot more about himself, the world, and what fatherhood truly means.
He wishes his wife had been the lone parent because she would have been a better parent. The single father is doing everything he can to raise his daughter, including singing her a lullaby, taking her to a garden, staying up all night for her, and even dressing up as a lady. As the child grows older, her father is now responsible for her schooling.
Melody Hurd plays Maddy Logelin, while the rest of the cast includes Alfre Woodard, Anthony Carrigan, Lil Rel Howery, Paul Reiser, Deborah Ayorinde, DeWanda Wise, and Teneisha Collins. It depicts a widowed new father attempting to raise his daughter alone while dealing with his own anxieties and concerns.
