Foundation Season 1: Release Date, Plot and Updates!

Based on Isaac Asimov’s influential 1951 novel trilogy of the same title, Foundation is an upcoming American science fiction series. The production of the series had to be suspended in March 2020 like all other shows due to the coronavirus situation. Foundation book series is regarded as one of the best sci-fi books of all time and had earlier inspired a lot of movies and tv series. The series will be distributed and networked by Apple Inc. and Apple TV respectively. This big-budget adaptation looks like it is all set to secure a high place in the sci-fi genre.

Release Date and Trailer:

The release date of Foundation season 1 has not been announced by Apple yet. However, the one thing that we are sure of is it will debut sometime in 2021 as the official website displays. Viewers around the globe can stream it on Apple TV+. The film was in it’s pre-production stage when the pandemic situation took over and lead to the halting and delay in the production.

The newly launched streaming service Apple TV+ is spoiling us with one after other shows and series. On June 22nd, 2020, Apple released the teaser trailer of the series and it looks amazing. Take a look at the trailer below:

The Plot of Foundation Season 1:

The official synopsis on Apple TV+ goes like “Foundation chronicles a band of exiles on their monumental journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire.” The story of the series revolves around  Hari Seldon, a scientist whose efforts lead to the invention of “psychohistory” which is a kind of mathematics that can predict the future. Hari tries to preserve all of the human knowledge by creating a colony called “Foundation” so that human civilization can restart after the collapse of the Galactic Empire.

The Cast of Foundation Season 1:

The film stars Jared Harris as Hari Seldon, Lee Pace as Brother Day, Emperor of the Galaxy, Lou Llobell as Gaal Dornick, Leah Harvey as Salvor Hardin, Laura Birn as Eto Demerzel, Cassian Bilton as Brother Dawn, Terrence Mann as Brother Dusk and Alfred Enoch.
