Remember Malcolm Bright? The surgeon was a serial killer. Prodigal Son is one of the brilliant creations of Fox. You must thank Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver because they are the creators of this American crime drama. Season 1 was a monstrous hit on Fox and fans expect more in season two. Given this, Fox releases the teaser trailer of Prodigal Season 2!

The mysterious lock of season 1 finale gets its key in the new season. There are lots of improved twists and turns in the new season. Get excited to watch the new season to witness the skills of the Prodigal Son.

The cast of Prodigal season 2

The cast of season 1 is its biggest success factor. So there is no prominent change in the new season. All members remain the same. Malcolm Bright’s family is beautifully set. Tom Payne is the perfect fit for Bright. Bellamy Young and Halston Sage take up their roles seriously and help the plot move forward. Aurora Perrineau, Frank Harts, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Keiko Agena play good cops.

Sklaver one of the creators says, “Everyone who is in Martin’s life, the idea at the core of this show is what if your father was a serial killer but I’m just as fascinated by the idea of what if your husband was a serial killer. So, I do think, we’re so blessed with Bellamy, Halston, and Tom, this Whitley family, we can focus on so many aspects of them and we know that our actors can deliver with such high caliber, we can’t do any wrong, hopefully.”

The creator duo is planning to bring in many guest characters especially for villain roles. They believe that bringing in new characters into the series will make it funnier.

The plot of Prodigal season 2

The gruesome ending of season one leaves us questions. But besides answering these questions, the plot moves forward with more to explore in the crime thriller. Sage who plays Bright’s sister brings in a lot for her brother to investigate. Fans are also readying themselves to know what happens next to the Walking Dead star Tom Payne. The show possesses a biblical title taking us back to The Walking Dead in which he played Jesus.

Creators Chris Fedak and Sam Skalve share their production work. Also they are the executive producers and writers for the show. Their massive work will continue with the new season also. Though season one hit the small screen on September 23, 2018 it ended only on April 27, 2019. So Fox announced the renewal of The Prodigal Son in May 2019 after many fans sent thumbs up to the show.

What did Michael Thorn say?

Fox releases the teaser trailer of Prodigal Season 2!

Michael Thorn, President of Entertainment in Fox is happy to receive fans’ support for this crime series. He says, “From the moment Prodigal Son premiered, fans have been captivated by the astounding performances turned in by Tom Payne and Michael Sheen, as they go head-to-head in one of the most unique family relationships on television. Adding to these searing dynamics are the equally compelling portrayals from Bellamy Young, Lou Diamond Phillips, Halston Sage, and the entire cast in a brilliant premiere season as told by Chris Fedak and Sam Sklaver. We’d like to thank our friends Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, and everyone at Warner Bros. Television for helping make a series that left everyone wanting more, and we’re thrilled to have Prodigal Son return for our 2020-21 slate.”

More details about Prodigal Son season 2

Many television networks postpone their show releases and Fox is not an exception. Though the Prodigal Season 2 is in the 2020-2021 slate, it is not clear when exactly the show will premiere on the television.

The new teaser trailer of Prodigal Season 2 reveals how Ainsley continues to transform. Malcolm is already in trauma but Ainsley brings in more stress for him. “We always have ideas and have two episodes that we had to scrap, so those are two zones that we want to go back to. We come at it on a seasonal perspective, this season was about Bright coming back to New York and opening up the mystery of the girl in the box and trying to understand that and in season two, there are things we want to do, they’re like chapters” says Fedak. What those chapters will bring us is still an unanswered question.

Fans can optimistically wait for more trailers with more details much before its original season. Fox has got quite a few things to keep us excited.
