Hello, Readers! One of the most popular arcade games is being adapted for television as a live-action game show, and it seems like a lot of fun. Peacock stated earlier this year that it was working on a Frogger Season 1, TV series.
Contestants would have to navigate an obstacle-filled road, similar to the one that the titular frog faced in the game series. The reality competition series, hosted by Damon Wayans Jr. and Kyle Brandt, is similar in tone to ABC’s Wipeout and Netflix’s Floor is Lava.
Frogger Season 1: Release Date
On September 9th, 2021, the series will air on Peacock. The game show’s first three episodes will be broadcast on an opening day, with additional episodes released every Thursday after that.

What is this about?
As per the show’s official summary, audiences and contestants will be plunged into a crazy, whimsical Frogger universe, complete with all of the basic but challenging components of Konami’s mega-hit. Competitors from all around the country will put their skills, strength, strategy, and problem-solving abilities to the test. The winner will get a $100,000 cash reward.
Oncoming vehicles, snapping alligators, and hungry, hungry hippos are just a few of Frogger’s obstacles plucked straight from the virtual domain. Fortunately, the perilous barriers are constructed of foam and rubber and do not cause any physical harm to the human participants who are playing as the renowned amphibian attempting to cross a busy road and return to its watery home.
This show was filmed in Australia—presumably because it is safer to produce there owing to the pandemic—and will have a total of 13 hour-long episodes airing this fall. Damon Wayans Jr. (New Girl, Happy Endings) will host the show for Peacock, with contestants fighting for the title of “America’s finest Frogger”. Kyle Brandt of Good Morning Football is his co-host.
