Ganglands Season 2: Release Date, Cast and more!

Created by Hamid Hlioua and Julien Leclercq, Ganglands is a crime drama series available on Netflix. The first season of the show consisted of six episodes and premiered on the streaming platform on September 24, 2021.

The first season of the show received positive reviews from critics and audiences for its storyline and performances. The makers have already renewed the show for another season which is scheduled to premiere soon.

Ganglands Plot and Cast

The makers of Ganglands have not exactly revealed what would happen in Season 2. However, it is confirmed to continue from where the first season ended.

It is about Mehdi, an experienced leader of a crew of armed robbers who becomes drawn into a turf war with a drug lord after the heist leader’s teenage niece steals eight kilos of cocaine from the drug baron’s courier. It is an adaptation of Leclercq’s 2015 film Braqueurs, in both the film and the TV adaptation, Sami Bouajila plays the heist leader.

In the latest episode, the inexperienced teenaged robbers try to sell the cocaine to a low-level dealer, but the dealer’s gang take the drugs without paying. One of the teens makes up a story about the cocaine belonging to a Moroccan drug mafia to try to scare them into returning the drugs.

The heist leader tracks the teenage accomplice and her friends to an indoor RV warehouse. At the same time that he holds the accomplice at gunpoint, seeking the location of his niece, the heavily-armed drug gang arrives to threaten the teen robbers.

The heist leader and the teens escape in a hail of gunfire. The heist leader and the teen accomplice get the cocaine back from the drug gang. Meanwhile, the drug baron faces scheming on the part of his family members who work in his drug business. Mehdi returns the drugs to the drug lord, but the drug baron does not return the kidnapped niece; instead, he tells Medhi to steal 300 kilos of cocaine for him as it arrives in Antwerp.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see Nabiha Akkari, Sami Bouajila and Salim Kechiouche in the lead roles. Further additions shall be announced soon.

Ganglands Season 2 Release Date

The makers have not announced anything about the release date for Ganglands Season 2. However, considering that Season 1 was released in 2021, Season 2 should premiere by 2022.

The first season consisted of six episodes in total and the same is expected to be repeated in Season 2. The show is produced by Netflix and Labyrinthe Films.
