Sky Atlantic is a streaming website that satellites one of the best action-packed series’ of the British Entertainment industry. It dropped the trailer on the 27th of March 2020. The title of the series itself conveys what they will show us. With ‘Gangs of London’ as the name, one can imagine how power-packed that would be. Showing the inner circle and the journeys of the gangs of London would be thrilling to watch.
The trailer looks like a combination of emotions, brutality, and action. Also, revenge, worst enemies, clashes, and many more electrifying shots played a lively role too.
People who watched the trailer gained a perspective of the series. They felt a stirring urge that it is going to be splendid. Well, the makers and writers with their fascinating story plotting made fans believe in the series. Whereas, the actors with their fantastic acting made fans love the series more. So, it certainly didn’t let down the fans’ expectations.
The series was first premiered exactly before four days, on the 22nd of April 2020. It premiered on Sky and Now TV giving people an experience of a crime thriller. And since then, fans are going crazy for it. It has featured 9 episodes in the first installment of the series.
The genre of the series is action, drama, and crime. Hence, it must have some of the best fighting scenes the Entertainment industry and the viewers have ever witnessed. Fans are also saying that this series has more brutal scenes than ‘Peaky Blinders’.
The best fight scenes
In the first episode of the series, the fight between Elliot and the Albanians set the standard high. Elliot, the undercover cop, pulled off the fight when he beat the Albanian gangsters by himself. The character of Elliot Finch is played by Sope Dirisu.
The last and the series final episode number 9, showed us the fight between the two former friends turned enemies. Marian Wallace (Michelle Fairley) and Dumani patriarch Ed (Lucian Msamati). The air in the scene is showcased as an atmosphere of tension. There were hardly words spoken in the scene. It was all fight and grudges of the two former friends or frenemies.
Who directed the fight scenes?
If you know the 2011 Indonesian action-packed movie ‘The Raid’. And also the sequel to the same ‘The Raid 2’ (2014). Then you will know why the fighting scenes of the series ‘Gangs of London’ are so thrilling.
Gareth Evans directed both the movies. He also has created ‘Gangs of London’ with Matt Flannery. So, the action-packed fights scenes go under his direction.
Asked about the power-packed, knuckle-cracking scenes, Evans explained – “To play up the tropes of a fight in a British boozer, but then to use an ashtray in a way that you’re not quite expecting…that’s the dark humor side of me.”
He further continued – “We wanted it to be fun, energetic, and thrilling, so you can kind of get dragged along through that sequence and enjoy it.”
