Gentleman Jack is a historical drama television series. Sally Wainwrigh created it. This show is set in the year 1832 in Yorkshire.  Suranne Jones, a landowner and an industrialist Anne Lister star in this show. This show is based on the collected diaries of Lister. These diaries contain over four million words. These are written largely in secret code, documenting a lifetime of lesbian relationships.

BBC One and HBO co-produce Gentleman Jack. The series premiered on 22 April 2019 in the United States and in the United Kingdom on 19 May 2019.

WHAT IS GENTLEMAN JACK ABOUT?

According to Wikipedia, “Set in 1832, the brilliant, endearing Miss Anne Lister leaves Hastings brokenhearted and heads to the lush landscape of Halifax, West Yorkshire, England to restore her uncle’s estate that she has inherited. While restoring the estate she finds that the family land has a coal mine and finds that it is being stolen by two brothers. This newly instated, unusual lady landowner and landlord encounters a potentially blossoming and dangerous romance with another woman, which she records in a cryptic diary that no one can decode.”

WHAT IS THE CAST FOR GENTLEMAN JACK?

This show sees Suranne Jones as Anne Lister and Sophie Rundle as Ann Walker. Joe Armstrong acts as Samuel Washington in this series. We can also see Amelia Bullmore as Eliza Priestley. Rosie Cavaliero portrays the role of Elizabeth Cordingley and Gemma Whelan portrays the role of  Marian Lister. Gemma Jones depicts Aunt Anne Lister and Timothy West depicts Jeremy Lister. The last n=main character that we see in this show is Tom Lewis who plays the role of Thomas Sowden.

WHEN IS SEASON 2 OF GENTLEMAN JACK RELEASING?

Gentleman Jack was renewed for a second series by BBC One on 23 May 2019. Production for the same resumed in October 2020. No air date for the debut of this season has been given by the production house as of now. If out calucations are right, we might be able to see the second season of Gentleman Jack by summer 2021.
