Ghost of Tsushima is coming this week! Watch the State of Play now!

Now that July is finally here, we’re moving closer to the start of Ghost of Tsushima. The much-awaited PS4 exclusive reveal will take place on Friday, July 17.

Ghost of Tsushima is a forthcoming action game produced by Sucker Punch Productions and released for PlayStation 4 by Sony Interactive Entertainment. This revolves around Jin Sakai, one of the remaining samurai on the island of Tsushima after Japan’s first Mongol invasion of the 1270s.

Four editions will be released by Sucker Punch: standard, digital deluxe, special, and a collector’s edition. Various versions come with unique items from collectors as well as objects, accessories, and unlocked features in the game.

Gameplay

It features a large open world with no waypoints and can be experienced without instruction. Players can easily move by riding a horse to various parts of the game world. An object that serves as a grappling hook should be required for hard to reach entry areas. The game features side missions to connect with and unplayable characters.

The game is set on Tsushima Island at the end of the 13th century. It will feature a wide range of regions and structures, such as parks, plains, shrines, ancient trees, cities, gardens, mountain landscapes, and numerous landmarks. Players can meet several characters, friends, and unexpected partners when they explore.

The game can also cater to lovers of classic cinema thanks to the option to play in the “Kurosawa” mode. A black-and-white filter that will make you feel like you’re playing inside a 1950s movie by the legendary Japanese director Akira Kurosawa, whose samurai movies have partly influenced this game.

Sucker Punch shared more information about Tsushima’s Ghost in the run-up to its publication. The studio gave us a much closer look at the discovery and fighting broadcasts in State of Play, and last week’s specific locations and deadlines for Jin’s katana. Sony has also recently released a new trailer to get you primed for war.

Although the release date for Ghost of Tsushima is quickly approaching. There’s still time to pre-order a copy of the game and score some additional prizes, including a new soundtrack and interactive theme for PS4.
