GLOW Season 4: Release Date, Plot and Updates!

The Netflix show about the 1980s syndicated women’s professional wrestling circuit, GLOW, has been updated for a fourth and final season last year on September 20. The comedy-drama has been created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, known for creating Homeland and Orange Is The New Black respectively. The series has been executive produced by Jenji Kohan and co-executive producer Tara Herrmann. Set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams, the series tells the fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress, Ruth Wilder, who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.

The official description of the show goes like this, “A look at the personal and professional lives of a group of women who perform for a wrestling organization in Los Angeles during the 1980s.” The series follows the personal and professional lives of the fictional show’s numerous cast and crew as they navigate the in Southern California and Southern Nevada. G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling) was a strong answer to the male-dominated World Wrestling Federation. They used to broadcast their wrestling as a TV series which ran till 1990 and even toured for live shows. In 2011, a critically-praised and award-winning documentary on the group, titled “GLOW: The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling,” was released. The sport-comedy series is an extension of the “G.L.O.W.” brand for Netflix, as the documentary became available on the streaming giant. The show received a whole bunch of nods and hence could continue till fourth and now the fans need to say adieu to them. Well, good news for the fans. GLOW has been nominated for the Emmy Awards this year for Outstanding Supporting Actress, Outstanding Production Design and Outstanding Sound Editing.

GLOW stars Alison Brie as Ruth, Betty Gilpin as Debbie, Sydelle Noel as Cherry, Britney Young as Carmen, Marc Maron as Sam Sylvia, Britt Baron as Justine, Kate Nash as Rhonda, Gayle Rankin as Sheila, Kia Stevens as Tammé, Jackie Tohn as Melanie, and Chris Lowell as Sebastian. There hasn’t been any official announcement of the release of the show due to the pandemic and might even get delayed due to the same.
