Google’s Pixel mid-range smartphones are no secret and have been subjected to multiple leaks in the past few months. The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL received IMDA certification in Singapore while another leak hinted a May launch. The wait is about to end as the search giant itself has teased May 7 announcement for the upcoming devices.
Google has set up a page on its online store while promoting the Avengers: Endgame movie. The movie is scheduled to launch at the end of this month and promotion is in full swing. The page contains a big “G” logo in purple shade with the text “Help is on the way”. Additionally, it informs that “On May 7, something big is coming to the Pixel universe” hinting the announcement of the Pixel 3a and 3a XL.

Google also announced a Playmoji pack for the Pixels that include the top MCU superheroes like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, and Black Widow. The company also shared a video showing how the Pixel helps the New Yorkers focus on their work, take a selfie with alien ships and find their way around the city among the chaos. It reminds of the Alien Invasion happened in New York in the first Avengers Movie in 2012.
The Pixel 3a and the Pixel 3a XL are codenamed “Sargo” and “Bonito” respectively. Both the “Sargo” and “Bonito” will come with 4GB RAM. The Pixel 3a sports a screen resolution of 1080 x 2200 pixels and a pixel density of 440 ppi. The “Bonito” aka the Pixel 3a XL, on the other hand, will have 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution. The upcoming smartphones will feature a 5.6 inch and 6 inch display respectively.
The Pixel 3a will house an Octa-core Snapdragon 670 chipset with Adreno 615 GPU and 64GB internal storage. It sports a 12MP rear camera and backed by a 3,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging. As for the Pixel 3a XL, a GeekBench listing revealed it to be powered by a Snapdragon 710 and an additional 6GB RAM variant.
