Google launched the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL flagships last year. Since then, there are quite a lot of leaks and rumours about the Pixel 3 Lite series. Theoretically, Google Pixel 3 Lite series is the economic and low-spec variants of the Google Pixel 3XL. Previous reports had advised that these lite versions of the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL will be named as Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite, respectively. However, the new reports now suggest that these devices will be dubbed as Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL.
The latest report claims that the Pixel 3a might be priced at Euro 450 (approximately 34,977INR) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. Notably, there could be additional variants of the device, but with more storage and not the RAM. Well, that’s obvious since the Pixel 3 itself is capped with 4Gigs of RAM.
In addition, the typical White and Black colour options are supposed to be complemented by an IRIS colour variant. The Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are allegedly codenamed Bonito and Sargo. The information regarding their code names was spotted in the Connectivity Monitor and Google Camera apps. As stated earlier, the phones are expected to be launched in the coming months. Chances are, Google might also tease them during or after the Google I/O 2019. As the name Lite itself suggests, these phones are alleged to be less expensive, and considerably less powerful compared to Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL smartphones.
Google Pixel 3a, Pixel 3a XL Specifications (Expected)
The Google Pixel 3a is said to get a 5.5-inch display with the resolution 2220×1080 pixels. The device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM. As for the optics, the device will feature a 12MP single rear camera and 8MP front camera for selfies. A 3000mAh battery might back the handset.
On the other hand, Pixel 3a XL features a large 6-inch display. Unlike the 3a, the device might be powered by the Snapdragon 710 SoC. There isn’t much information available regarding the RAM, storages and optics. But considering the 3a and 3XL, the device may have 4GB of RAM.
Previous leaks suggested us that, both the 3a and 3a XL will have the same cameras, found on the Google Pixel 3 series. As of now, nothing is confirmed regarding the devices. Both the smartphones will run Android 9 Pie out of the box. Stay tuned for more updates.
