Hello, Readers! Gossip Season 1 is a Showtime docuseries that takes a look at the world of tabloid journalism and stars Cindy Adams, the Queen of Gossip herself. We now have our first look at the trailer for the Showtime docuseries.
Jenny Carchman directs the series, which comes from executive producers Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, and traces the rise of the gossip column to the havoc it has brought up to today.
From Donald Trump’s need for fame to the tabloids’ refusal to leave Britney Spears alone, it appears as though nothing (much like gossip) is off-limits in the docuseries, and it’ll be a fascinating look at tabloid journalism, including interviews with Perez Hilton, Maury Povich, and others.

The four-part docuseries will air on Showtime on August 22 at 8 p.m. EST.

Even while the video plainly shows that the gossip mill is how we got up with Trump in power, what’s interesting about the clip is that Adams doesn’t seem to hate her role in it. However, the series appears to cover a wide range of topics, from the necessity to sell headlines to our current connection with gossip publications.

Gossip digs into the world of tabloid journalism, which exploded in popularity in the late 1970s in New York City and swept the globe. Liz Smith, George Rush, Richard Johnson, and, most notably, Queen of Gossip Cindy Adams, built their careers reporting on and producing celebrities, sometimes even becoming celebrities themselves.
Through the popularity of gossip, Adams and her colleagues helped transform journalism and set the agenda for who would become famous in the decades ahead.
Each episode examines how gossip and its stewards evolved over the course of a decade, reflecting on the biggest scoops and scandals — from Donald Trump’s divorce to Paris Hilton’s death — and examining gossip’s double-edged sword: it can inspire communal kinship, but it can also be weaponized to bring down anyone in its path.
