Grand Army: Plot and Cast

Five students at a high school in Brooklyn, NY face different struggles due to their race, sexuality and political leanings. In spite of that, they remain similar in their ambitions to become someone in the future. It is a motivational teenage show that shows all the rage and emotions teenagers deal with.

Katie Cappiello’s Slut is based on one of the main characters of the show, Joey Del Marco. In the plot of Grand Army, Del Marco is sexually assaulted one night by childhood friends. This leaves a lasting strain on her relationship with herself and others.

Brittany Adebumola plays Tamika Jones, while Odessa A’zion plays Joey Del Marco who is from Stuyvesant Town. Odley Jean plays Dominique “Dom” Pierre, a junior who is from East New York. Amir Bageria plays Siddhartha Pakam while Maliq Johnson plays Jayson Jackson, a sophomore who is from Jackson Heights.

Amalia Yoo plays Leila Kwan Zimmer, who is a freshman at the high school and lives in the Upper East Side. Amalia Yoo was also a part of Slut, so it would be exciting to see her perform on screen! With such a racially and financially diverse group of people, we will definitely witness troubles as well as long lasting bonds.

Grand Army Season 1: Release Date and Trailer

The first season of the show will consist of ten episodes that will be released all at once on Netflix. The teaser was released in September 2020, and the series is scheduled to come out on October 19, 2020.
