Actor Hartley Sawyer plays the role of the Elongated Man in the fan-favorite series. The Flash is one of the popular shows on the television network The CW. The network took stringent action against its actor by dismissing him from the show. He had been on the sets for more than three seasons. What happened now? Why Hartley Sawyer is dismissed? Hartley Sawyer is dismissed from The CW’s The Flash. Know Why?
Arrowverse fans were stunned immediately receiving this particular piece of news. However, there is one solid reason for this action. Hartley Sawyer’s tweets. His series of tweets targeted at women landed him on this destiny. His Twitter account has been deleted since then. There were official comments on his posts and his account. Most of his tweets are misogynistic.
Hartley Sawyer and The CW
During season three, Hartley joined the sets of The Flash. He played the role of an independent detective and investigator Ralph Dibny. Ralph soon became an integral part of the show. As soon as Skai Jackson exposed his tweets, the company took prompt action by dismissing him from the cast. Eric Wallace, the executive producer of the show, says that he is “shell-shocked” and “went mad” at his tweets.

Tweets of Hartley Sawyer
He tweeted a lot on sexuality, abusing women, staring at breasts, kidnapping women, and so on. He even tweeted, “All women should be in sex farms.” He even shared jokes about wife-beating, domestic abuse, and trafficking women and torturing them. Few of his tweets directly point him to be a kidnapper of women, even a serial killer. Not to mention, he shared racist tweets also.

One of his tweets says, “As a lad, one of my favorite activities was kidnapping homeless women and cutting off their breasts and date rape myself so I don’t have to masturbate.” This reveals his tasteless, shameful posts, and thoughts.
Hartley Sawyer’s Reaction
As soon as this issue gained speed in spreading and gossiping, Hartley Sawyer’s Twitter account was deleted out of the platform. He soon went to his Instagram account and released a statement apologizing for his misogynistic acts.
What The CW says on Hartley Sawyer’s tweets?
The CW released a statement after dismissing him from the show. “Hartley Sawyer will not be returning for season seven of The Flash. In regards to Mr. Sawyer’s posts on social media, we do not tolerate derogatory remarks that target any race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation. Such remarks are antithetical to our values and policies, which strive and evolve to promote a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for our workforce.”
This will have a huge impact on the plot of the show. Whether to continue casting The Elongated Man on the show or to wind up with the role? It is up to the producers of the series. A similar thing happened to the Batwoman. When Ruby Rose chose to leave the series, the show makers decided to take away the role of Kate Kane. Instead, they chose to find another character for the show’s second installment.
We don’t know if this will have an impact on the role of Natalie Dreyfus. She is the love interest of Ralph in the show. Stay connected with us to know more about the show’s twists and turns.
