Created by Michael Waldron, “Heels” is an upcoming American drama television series starring Stephen Amell and Alexander Ludwig as two brothers and rivals, one a villain, or “heel” in professional wrestling, the other a hero, or “face” play out scripted matches as they war over their late father’s wrestling promotion and vie for national attention in small town Georgia, the first season of which premieres Sunday, August 15, 2021, on Starz.
The wrestling series is a story about the men and women who chase their dreams in the world of small town pro wrestling. Set in a close-knit Georgia community, it follows a family-owned wrestling promotion as two brothers and rivals war over their late father’s legacy. In the ring, somebody must play the good guy and somebody must play their nemesis, the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or hard to leave behind.
The series also features Alison Luff, Mary McCormack, Kelli Berglund, Chris Bauer, Allen Maldonado and James Harrison.
“Heels” is executive produced by writer Michael Waldron, Mike O’Malley, Julie Yorn, Christopher Donnelly, Patrick Walmsley and Peter Segal, who directs several episodes. It is produced by Lionsgate TV for Starz in association with Paramount Television Studios.
