Hitman 3 is a forthcoming stealth game created and released by IO Interactive. The title will be the 8th major installment of the Hitman franchise, and the World Assassination Trilogy’s 3rd and final installment.
Agent 47 returns with the most important contracts of his whole career, as a cynical professional. Supported by his Agency manager, Diana Burnwood, 47 joins up with his long-lost pal Lucas Grey.
Release Date
The game was revealed on 11 June 2020 at the PlayStation 5 reveal event. The game features six different cities, including Dubai, which was revealed next to the launch.
It’s scheduled to be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Stadia in January 2021.
What to expect?
Hitman 3 picks up on the new narrative developed with the two previous games. It has Agent 47 moving on another adventure of globetrotting. Hitman 3’s aim is to eventually kill Providence’s collaborators and 47 must team up to get it done with his trainer Diana Burnwood, as well as his long-lost pal Lucas Grey.
We see him scaling a tall building in Dubai in the gameplay preview. But little information is offered about what the plot is about or why he’s there.
It’s still uncertain where the game will go in terms of plot. Though an early trailer for the title suggests that this could be the end of the road for Agent 47, especially with the “Death Waits” tagline.
Players who purchased Hitman and Hitman 2 will be able to import maps, levels, and progress to Hitman 3. Developers also said that the game would be much more sophisticated, intense, and darker than the previous installments of the series.
In recent years, IO Interactive has done an excellent job of re-imagining the Hitman franchise, lowering players into vast stealth sandboxes enabling them to take almost any path they want. On PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as current-gen consoles, Hitman 3 looks to maintain its tradition.
