It was originally announced in February 2019 as a sequel to the 2017 game Hollow Knight.
Here’s everything we know about Hollow Knight: Silksong
Release date
Even with all the info about the game that’s been made public, we have yet to receive an official launch date for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
For now it’s safe to assume that the title will drop in the second half of 2021.
As of now, Hollow Knight: Silksong is only slated for PC and Nintendo Switch.
Since the original Hollow Knight did eventually come to PS4 and Xbox One, it is very likely that the Silksong could come to those systems, PS5, and Xbox Series X at some point in the future.

Story
Hollow Knight: Silksong puts players in the shoes Hornet, a character that players met and fought in the first game after she ends up in the Kingdom of Pharloom. Players follow her as she ascends the kingdom to reach a citadel, and possibly what’s even beyond this.
Hornet finds herself captured and taken to the unknown, haunted kingdom of Pharloom, which is said to be “ruled by Silk and Song.” Hornet must climb to the top of this kingdom to reach a shining citadel in order to discover why she was brought to this strange kingdom. This contrasts with the progression of Hollow Knight, which involves descending into the depths of Hallownest and trying to stop the infection plaguing the Kingdom. Along the way, she faces many powerful opponents including knights, warriors and assassins.
Gameplay
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania that features an expansive world for players to explore. Players will complete quests and gain new abilities over the course of the adventure that not only flesh out Hornet’s move set, but open up new areas as well.
