Huawei sub-brand Honor is gearing up for the Honor View 20 smartphone that that is expected to be launched in a few days from now. But it looks the Chinese manufacturer is working on more devices at the moment. Recently an Honor device with model number JAT-AL00, JAT-TL00 and JAT-L29 appeared on Chinese regulatory agency TENAA which is supposed to be the entry-level Honor 8A.

Today, the images appeared in the website revealing the design aspects of the smartphone. Being an entry level device it’s certainly not in the level of
Honor Magic 2 and Honor View 20 but follows the same design philosophy. The display comes with a teardrop notch and has a greater screen-to-body ratio than the predecessor Honor 7A. Both the volume rocker and the power button are placed on the right while there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack in the top. The single rear camera is placed on the top left with the company logo below it
The design trend was first seen on the Honor 8 and the Honor 8 Max where a quarter is off colored according to the camera and company logo. Since it is a part of the 2018 affordable series it is likely to sport a non-glossy back. There is no fingerprint scanner which means the handset will come with Face Unlock.

From the TENAA spec list, the Honor 8A will feature a 6.088-inch display and powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core coupled with 3GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage. The rear has a 13MP sensor while the front offers an 8MP selfie camera. The handset runs Android 9 Pie out of the box and will be powered by a 2,920 mAh battery.  It will be offered in black, blue, gold and red color options.
