Honor 8A official renders published

Honor 8A

The Honor 8A appeared in TENAA certification last month where we got an insight into the design aspects of the smartphone. Today official renders of the device were published by Droid Shout giving a clear look at the device. The renders show the smartphone in four color options: Black, Blue, Gold, and Red. It comes with model numbers: JAT-AL00, JAT-TL00, and JAT-L29.

The 8A doesn’t come with a dual camera setup at the rear like the predecessor Honor 7A, but it will feature a dew drop notch unlike the 7A which had a wider notch. The rear of the device seems to have a glossy finish, so we can expect a plastic finish instead of a metal like on the 7A.

Honor 8A

The Honor 8A will sport a 6.099 inch IPS display with a tall aspect ratio, 283ppi brightness and a resolution of HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels). It is said to run on EMUI 9.0 built on top of Android 9 Pie and come in either 32GB and 64GB variants with 3GB RAM. Under the hood, it will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 clocked at 2.35 GHz and backed by a 3,050 mAh. There is no fingerprint sensor which means it will likely come with Face Unlock feature.

On the optics department, the Honor 8A will have an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture while the rear will have a 13MP camera with an f/1.8 aperture with phase detection autofocus which can record at 1080p @ 30fps. Unlike the 7A which have a 2MP depth sensing secondary sensor, the 8A posses none. There is a dual SIM tray card with an expandable memory by a microSD card up to 512GB. The handset measures 56.28×73.5×8.0 mm.

Honor 8A

The Honor 8A will be announced in China on January 8 in the CES 2019 which will take place in Las Vegas. The smartphone will start at CNY 799 (Rs 8,000 approx) for the base variant 3GB RAM +32GB onboard storage while the 3GB RAM + 64GB storage variant will come with a price tag of CNY 999 (Rs 10,000 approx).
