Huawei Mate 20 Pro Coming to India Next Month, as an Amazon Exclusive

The Chinese giant Huawei has recently launched its flagship Huawei Mate 20, Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Huawei Mate 20X and Mate 20 RS Porsche Edition at an event held in London. While we are still unsure about the other three, the Mate 20 Pro is now officially confirmed for the Indian arrival.

The indication for the same comes from the company’s official press release which clearly mentions “Mate 20 Pro” in the list of upcoming devices, prior to which, the device was officially teased on Amazon India and currently shows a “Notify Me” button for users interested in the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Neither the emailed statement nor the Amazon teaser contained any information regarding the exact launch date or if any other device is going to follow up with the launch.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Specifications

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro comes with a 6.39-inch Quad-HD+ (1440×3120 pixels) curved OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and an 86.9 percent screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the Notch.

Under the hood, the device is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal Storage. There is yet another variant with 256GB of storage and the storage can be expanded further using Nano SD cards.

In the optics department, the phone bears a triple rear camera setup, featuring a 40-megapixel primary wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture, a 20-megapixel ultra wide angle sensor with f/2.2 aperture, and a third 8-megapixel 3X telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. While for selfies, we have a 24-megapixel f/2.0 shooter at the front Notch. The Notch further houses IR and other sensors for supporting the 3D-based face unlock.

On the software front, the device runs on latest EMUI 9.0 on top of Android 9 Pie. Powering the phone is a large 4,200mAh battery which supports 40W Huawei SuperCharge fast charging along with 15W Wireless Charging. The phone bears Dolby stereo speakers, IP68 water-proofing, and can charge other supported devices with the use of Reverse Wireless Charging.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, dual-band Bluetooth v5.0, Bluetooth v5.0 LE with aptX, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port and the phone weighs 189grams.

As of now, we don’t have any clue about the Indian pricing. The device landed Europe with a price tag of EUR 1049 (roughly Rs. 88,400) for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model and is expected to come to India at a similar or maybe lower price. Stay tuned.
