Days before a report surfaced online claiming Huawei will launch its Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones in Paris, France at March-end. Today the Chinese manufacturer confirmed that it would indeed launch its P30 series on March 26.
Huawei has released an official invitation revealing the March 26 launch date. The image shows a lens zooming into the Eiffel Tower hinting that it may have a more advanced zoom than the P20’s 5x hybrid-zoom.
An invitation video was also spotted on Twitter account @bang_gogo_. It is shown focusing on the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe with tremendous details. The video suggests it will feature a 10x hybrid zoom, which we will see in an OPPO prototype at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019 event.
Furthermore, the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro have allegedly appeared on TENAA with model number ELE-TL00 and VOG-AL00. The model numbers may be a reference to the popular fashion magazines Elle and Vogue. It indicates that the devices will be introduced in the fashion capital of the world.
Not much information is available on the upcoming P-series handsets. According to the case makers and early renders, the Huawei P30 will come with a triple camera setup. As for the Huawei P30 Pro, it will have four cameras with laser AF, and dual LED flash placed next to them. They will likely be powered by the company’s own Kirin 980 chipset and have 40W fast charging.
It is rumoured that the P-series handsets will be arriving with a notched display equipped with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The P30 is expected to sport a 6.1inch OLED screen while the P30 Pro may come with a 6.5-inch panel. The former is expected to have 6GB RAM while the Pro version may feature 8GB RAM. They are also speculated to have support for 5G connectivity.
