Hulu renews Pen15 for season 2. The show which gained its fame for its impeccable sense of humour will be returning to Hulu this fall. Pen 15 narrates a hilarious story of two women who go back in time.

The story revolves around two women who time travel and end up in their past. They revisit their teenhood in the same bodies of their adult version. Pen15 taps on a unique concept of time travelling theme infused with comedy. Among the many reasons for the shows, success is its laughter jerking script and dialogues.

It depicts the lives of teenagers and how they deal with their hormonal issues, emotional instability. The love affairs that make their mind swirl, the insecurities and the academic pressure. The teenagers with acne filled, denture adorned with braces have to constantly work to look beautiful, feel smart and land up in good universities.

The two women who go back to their teenhood lives, live their lives again but with the bodies of an adult. The amount of discomfort this brings to them and the general disgust of interacting with their old classmates has the fans laughing. Pen15 beautifully depicts the perspective the two women gain about the hardships the teenagers have to face.

The writers of the show Maya Erskine, Anna Konkle, and Sam Zvibleman, wanted to give this show a comic angle whereas they could have given it a dramatic or sad angle. The show intends to bring out issues that prevail in the society and what teenagers face in their life. The show’s cast apparently enjoyed playing roles of pseudo teenagers. It was like they were transported back in time to their adolescence years.

The show, however, did face criticism and wasn’t liked by many. The creators of the show themselves claimed that it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and may not be someones first choice of streaming. Things took a turn, however, when one of the episodes of the show got nominated for an Emmy Award. The episode called “Anna Ishii-Peters,” written by Erskine and Konkle was nominated for the award and to the delight of the cast and crew of the show, they celebrated this success.

For a show which has released just one season to be nominated for an Emmy especially in the genre of comedy is absolutely remarkable and commendable. The critics have given this show a decent rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and 7.9 on IMDb. The fan following of this show is growing steadily and according to Hulu the show is doing well for itself

Pen15 released its first season in February of 2019 will be returning to Hulu in the September of 2020. The fans of this show have been actively tweeting and following the stars to keep themselves updated about the new season’s possible spoilers and are waiting for season two to hit the screens.

The cast of the season 1 so far includes Maya Erskine as Maya Ishii-Peters, Anna Konkle as Anna Kone, Mutsuko Erskine as Yuki Ishii-Peters, Maya’s stern but caring mother, Richard Karn as Fred Peters, Taylor Nichols as Curtis Kone, Melora Walters as Kathy Kone, Taj Cross as Sam and Dallas Liu as Shuji Ishii-Peters. So far no confirmation has been given on the possibility of new characters being added to the script.

Pen15 continues to keep its fans awaiting n real life as well!! Comment below your thoughts!
