I Am Groot Season 2: Release Date, Cast and more!

Created by Ryan Little, I Am Groot is an upcoming animated television series made for Disney+. It is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name and features characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Kirsten Lepore and James Gunn are the executive producers of the show. It consists of shorts produced by Marvel Studios with Ryan serving as head writer and Kirsten Lepore as director. The show will be a part of Phase Four of the MCU. A second season is already in development prior to the release of Season 1.

I Am Groot Plot and Cast

Since Season 1 has not released yet, we cannot predict anything about what would happen in I Am Groot Season 2. Details related to the next five shorts shall be revealed soon.

I Am Groot will feature shorts produced by Marvel Studios and each short will follow Baby Groot as he grows up in the galaxy, going on adventures with new and unusual characters that get him into trouble.

During an event, Kevin Feige revealed that the show will feature many new and unusual characters. The comic book’s synopsis states that when the Guardians of the Galaxy are caught in a wormhole, Groot gets separated billions of light years away from the team.

Groot falls to a planet below and finds that he is on an alien and unknown world full of strange creatures and societies. Meanwhile, it is unknown if the series would showcase this storyline in any episode.

The makers have not revealed anything about the actors who have been cast in the lead roles. Baby Groot is the only character who would appear constantly throughout the series. Further details are expected to be revealed in the next few months.

I Am Groot Season 2 Release Date

The first season of I Am Groot is scheduled to premiere on August 10, 2022. Considering that, the second season should premiere by 2023.

The upcoming season is also confirmed to have five episodes like Season 1. The series is produced by Marvel Studios and Disney Platform Distribution.
