In the Dark is a crime drama television series created by Corinne Kingsbury for The CW and made its debut as a mid-season entry during the 2018-19 television season. The first season of the series premiered on 4th April 2019. The series was renewed for a second season in the same month and it premiered on 16th April 2020. The series was renewed for a third season by The CW in January 2020 and it will premiere on 9th June 2021. The series was again renewed for a fourth season in February 2021.

The first and second season had 13 episodes each with a running time of 42 minutes. The series has been well received by the audience and has received decent feedback from critics. The series has an approval rating of 73% on Rotten Tomatoes and a score of 54 out of 100 on Metacritic.
