Indiana Jones 5 – Release Date, Cast, Title and more details!

After more than a decade, the wait is finally over for fans of the famous Indiana Jones franchise, the fifth Indiana Jones film is finally on its way with an official release date now confirmed!

Although the film was actually confirmed in 2016, no official cast details and storyline were established, with there talks of George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, and Harrison Ford wanting to come together for the fifth outing of the famous franchise. However, Spielberg later dropped out of the directorial role and decided to stay on as producer, with Logan director James Mangold now at the helm of the fifth Indiana Jones film.

Cast and Title details

There had been rumours about a possible reboot of the franchise, but fans can now heave a sigh of relief as those rumours have been dismissed, with Harrison Ford confirmed to reprise his role as the famous Dr. Henry Walton “Indiana” Jones Jr.

John Rhys-Davies has also said that he would love to return to his role of Sallah, who we saw in Raiders of the Lost Ark and then again in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Jim Broadbent, who played the role of Charles Stanforth, Indy’s boss at Marshall College, also said that he would love to reprise his role from the fourth installment of the franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

Surprisingly enough, Mark Hamill from the famous Star Wars franchise, has also hinted that he would be delighted to play the villain in the fifth film. Now that is some interesting news for the fans!

With the story still in development and cast and crew not fully finalized yet, the fans will have to wait for the official title of the fifth Indiana Jones film, which might not be revealed until the latter part of 2021.

Release Date of Indiana Jones 5

Indiana Jones 5 was initially supposed to be in theatres in July 2019, but that didn’t happen as we all know. The release was pushed up to July 10, 2020, but that didn’t happen as well. Disney announced the third release date; July 9, 2021, but owing to the ongoing world crisis, the film would not have been ready by that time either. The release date of Indiana Jones 5 was further postponed to July 29, 2022, and we hope it does not get later than that.
