Is After Life Season 3 Production Starting Soon?

After Life season 2 ended on an uncertain note. Netflix confirmed the development of season 3. After Life is a Black Comedy-drama web series. Ricky Gervais is the writer, director, producer as well as the star. On 6th May 2020, Netflix and Ricky Gervais reached a multi-project deal on the renewal of the third season.

Season 2 Ending

In season 2, Tony is kind, better, and happy or at least trying to be. In season 1, her wife dies due to cancer and in season 2 his father dies. As the season ends everyone moves on with a new partner. In the end, Tony says good night to her wife as he is watching video clips. The season ends with notes of Sufjan Stevens.

Season 3 Release Date

As the deal is signed for the production of season 3. The production can begin by June 2020 if the industry recovers from Covid-19. New-season can release in April 2021.

Cast

In season 3 we can expect most characters to remain the same with some new faces. Ricky Gervais as Tony, Penelope Wilton as Anne, Ashley Jensen as Emma, Tony Way as Lenny, Mandeep Dhillon as Sandy. Chances of the introduction of new characters are high.

Season 3 Expectations

Chances are Tony will be finally ready to accept a new relationship. As season 2 saw several new characters and faces. So Ricky Gervais can make the decision to introduce more new characters. As Tony’s newspaper struggles to continue due to an increase in demand for online newspapers. So it will be interesting to see how he manages to run his newspaper. Both the season dealt with the death of someone close to Tony. In season 1 he lost his wife and in season 2 he lost his father. So in season 3 wee can expect another tear-jerking scene. Well, hopefully, Ricky Gervais is scribbling down some notes for a season three script.
