NBC’s brand new OTT platform Peacock is going to launch a new series called Brave New World on July 15, 2020, and on Sky One in the UK. Adapted from the 1932 novel of the same name by British author Aldous Huxley, the story talks about a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself.
Till now 9 episodes have been confirmed for the season and are named brilliantly, such as Everybody Happy Now, Monogamy and Futility, Want and Consequence, Firefall, etc. Peacock has released the first trailer for Brave New World. The world of New London certainly looks appealing here.
The network is sticking with the writer/ showrunner it appointed originally as part of a writer’s room; David Wiener, who brings writing and executive producer experience from Homecoming, Strange Angel, Fear the Walking Deadand Flesh and Bone. Universal Content Productions and Amblin Television are taking the lead as production houses.
Well, we don't know how many folks will actually get to see it (b/c "Peacock"), but #BraveNewWorld looks like it could be the best new show for summer 2020 https://t.co/sp3ad5YsAY
The procedural was a long one and took years to form a final decision. In 2015, Syfy announced their intention to develop the series, with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey producing. In 2016, writers Les Bohem, Grant Morrison, and Brian Taylor were attached to the project. On February 13, 2019, the series was moved to the USA Network, with David Wiener replacing Bohem as a writer and Owen Harris directing the pilot.
Brave New World is going to cast Alden Ehrenreich as John the Savage, Jessica Brown Findlay as Lenina Crowne, Demi Moore as Linda, Harry Lloyd as Bernard Marx, Hannah John-Kamen as Helm, Sen Mitsuji as Henry Foster, Joseph Morgan as CJack60, Nina Sosanya as Mustafa Mond, Kylie Bunbury as Frannie.
