Is Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War coming in 2020?

Call of Duty Black Ops is a 2010 shooting game created by Treyarch and released by Activision. It was released in November 2010 for Windows, PS3, Xbox 360, with a special Nintendo DS edition created by n-Space.

Recent rumors indicated that the new title would be called CoD Vietnam. A Twitter user considered to leak correct information about the CoD games has disclosed the name. If the report is right, the latest game is called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

This isn’t the first instance that Okami has leaked info about CoD this year. Back in March, the beans were poured over to Warzone and the specifics of its publication long before the official announcement. Fans are likely to be delighted with the revival of the iconic Black Ops sequence.

A leaked picture of the game’s tentative artwork was posted on Twitter, Wednesday by Okami. He had earlier leaked Call of Duty: Warzone’s official release and details before it was even revealed.

Many various outlets have gained such details. The most interesting of which is Eurogamer, who claims that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is coming this fall.

Activision has also officially confirmed the planned release of Call of Duty in 2020 but did not disclose which of its studios would serve as the lead producer. Treyarch might be doing production activities, as the Black Ops show is very much his pack.

More about CoD Black Ops: Cold War

On May 19 an update to CoD: Warzone let gamers discover the doors of a secret bunker. It has been closed shut since the Royal Battle was launched in March.  The inside was littered with reminders of the Cold War period, a war room, a countdown timer, and a nuclear weapon.

This implies that Activision might be using the launch of CoD: Black Ops Cold War to switch to a new Warzone segment with drastic map changes, possibly triggered by a nuclear blast.

Kotaku sources report that Activision has indeed been developing the COD title in the Cold War era. The duration of the game wasn’t much of a surprise, but nothing is clear about the next Black Ops.

The inauguration of premium CoD titles via Warzone would most probably be the future as to how Activision markets its new titles.

There is no official confirmation of the game so far, so there’s no actual launch date yet. It is fair to conclude, however, that the next COD might be published around mid-October or the start of November.

When Warzone was released, Activision personnel said that the game mode will be used to tie threads from past and upcoming Call of Duty Games.
