Is Destiny 2 Coming to Next Generation Consoles?

Destiny 2 is a free-to-play online shooting game created by Bungie. It was unveiled for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2017, accompanied by Microsoft Windows the following month. The title was released by Activision until 31 December 2018, when Bungie purchased the rights to distribute the series.

It is the successor to the 2014 Destiny and its corresponding extensions. Set in a world of “mythic sci-fi,” the game will feature a multiplayer “shared-reality” setting with aspects of role-playing games.

Destiny 2 showcases a more efficient method of playing called “Guided Games”. It allows players to scan for clans that may need additional players for tasks such as attacks or raids. Like the initial, Destiny 2 activities are categorized into Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP) gameplay modes.

Destiny 2 Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X

At the launch of a new-gen console, there is still a question about which games should be released on all platforms.

Many fans will be delighted to hear that Destiny 2 has been publicly confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X! The news was announced by Bungie’s official Twitter handle in response to roundup of games coming to Xbox Series X.

No further specifics on the next-gen version of Destiny 2 have been revealed. That could mean the game would be backward compatible with both Xbox Series X and PS5, or it could be an improved version arriving soon.

Sony confirms PS5 will support an “overwhelming majority” of more than 4,000 PS4 titles, and Xbox Series X will feature current Xbox One titles. This means that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Destiny 2 are likely to work on next-gen consoles.

Destiny News comes after Microsoft released the first Xbox Series X gameplay clips in a series of third-party console trailers, including Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Madden 21.

It’ll be fascinating to see when the game arrives on the PS5 or Xbox Series X. Hopefully, the game will show up around the launch day, but still, no official statement has been made.
