The video game inspired movie Sonic the Hedgehog just came out this year and received mixed criticisms. The first time audience had liked the blue hedgehog, whereas, the gamers complained they didn’t get the flavour of the game and the main character. The movie received an IMDb score of 6.6, and 64% on Rotten Tomatoes. Many said the graphics were flawed, some say the direction could have been better. Director Jeff Fowler said, “Thank you for the support and the criticism. The message is loud and clear. You aren’t happy with the design and you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the best they can be.”
Even though the film acquired a lot of amount from the box office, in regard to the fact that it is already famous in the gaming world. Paramount Pictures kept their promise and moved ahead with the betterment of the sequel, with the help of Sega. Pat Casey and Josh Miller are working on the second script. But the movie is still in the development stage so decisions have not been made yet regarding casting or a production start date.

Sonic the Hedgehog talks about the blue hedgehog, the speediest one in it’s community, who tries to get accustomed with the human world. Sonic, along with his best friend Tom, goes on to protect the world from the evil genius Dr.Robotnik and his plans to dominate the world. The film is true to it’s family friendliness with the touch of humour and sarcasm. The character has indeed got a charming personality.
