Hazelight Studios, best known for their two-player co-op action-adventure title “A Way Out”, in partnership with EA, is releasing a new game with a similar co-op mechanic. It Takes Two was first teased during June’s EA Play presentation, before being fully unveiled at The Game Awards.
Here’s everything we know about It Takes Two:
Release Date
The unveiling at The Game Awards revealed that It Takes Two has a release date of March 26, 2021, in the books. The game is however launching in a very crowded window alongside games like Monster Hunter Riseand Balan Wonderworld.
Trailer
Here’s the latest trailer for It Takes Two which debuted at The Game Awards. It introduces us to the protagonists of the game, Cody and May, as well as showing us some gameplay.
Platforms
EA has revealed that the game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series. Players who have bought the game on current-gen consoles will be given the free upgrade for next-gen consoles via the smart delivery feature.
The game follows Cody and May, a married couple having relationship problems. They lived like regular human beings, until one day when they turn into dolls for some unknown reason. The game will probably use its cooperative gimmick to enhance some pivotal story moments and messages about positive relationships.
Gameplay
Just like A Way Out, It Takes Two will require two players. Some objectives and situations throughout the game will require two players to work together in order to progress in the story. The game will feature both Online and Co-Op modes so finding someone to play with shouldn’t be an issue, especially with the Friend’s Pass from A Way Out returning.
Friend’s Pass
If players install the free Friend’s Pass demo, they’ll be able to play It Takes Two with you even if they don’t buy the game. This system is helpful, but keep in mind Xbox and PlayStation players can’t play with each other with the Friend Pass.
If you were a fan of A Way Out, it’s strongly recommended that you pick up this title when it hits the shelves in March!
