Netflix seems to have tasted success with anime series. Encouraged with the success of animes worldwide, Netflix is serving a new anime to its global audience. Netflix had earlier ordered Japan Sinks 2020, an apocalyptic tragedy drama directed by Masaki Yuasa. Now the official trailer has been released by Netflix.
Japan Sinks 2020 is inspired by the Sakyo Komatsu’s novel with the same name originally published in 1973. The story revolves around an impending threat of destruction that Japan is about to face. A group of scientists has already predicted that natural disasters are about to strike Japan. But the Japanese government does not pay much attention to scientist’s prophecy. A typical day turns to Japan’s worst nightmare possible. Increased seismic activities at tectonic boundaries are about to wreak havoc. Series of disasters like earthquakes, tsunami strike Japan all at once. Will Japan and its people survive this time?
A girl and her family are all who seem to have survived the initial disasters. But can the brave the mighty forces of nature to the very end?
