Johnny Hallyday: Beyond Rock – Plot and Cast!
You may or may not be familiar with Johnny Hallyday. However, back in his heyday, all you had to do was say “Johnny” and practically everyone in France knew who you meant.
Like Elvis, Hallyday is basically the French Elvis, a music icon who hip-swivelled and rocked his audiences into frenzies with incredible shows sold more than 100 million records internationally, and counted legions of fans across the globe (albeit much fewer in the US).
Furthermore, this year marks the fifth anniversary of the passing of the man born Jean-Philippe Smet, and Netflix is bringing longtime and newbie fans of Johnny Hallyday (as well as regular ol’ viewers) a new five-episode biopic series about the legendary performer’s life and career — told by the man himself in his own words in archival footage and personal testimonials.
Alexandre Danchin and Jonathan Gallaud are the two directors for this docu-series. It is a biography made in a documentary style – Johnny Hallyday in his own words.
