Julia: Plot and Cast
The series is inspired by Julia Child’s extraordinary life and her long-running television series, The French Chef, which pioneered the modern cooking show. Through the life of Julia, the series explores a pivotal time in American history and the emergence of public television as a new social institution.
It also explores feminism and the women’s movement, the nature of celebrity and America’s cultural evolution. It is a portrait of a loving marriage with a shifting power dynamic.
The lead cast of the series includes Sarah Lancashire as Julia Child, David Hyde Pierce as Paul Cushing Child, Brittany Bradford as Alice, Bebe Neuwirth as Avis, Isabella Rossellini as Simone Beck, Robert Joy as Hunter Fox and Erin Neufer as Marian Morash.
We will also get to see James Cromwell, Adriane Lenox, Fran Kranz, Fiona Glascott, Jefferson Mays, Judith Light and Christian Clemenson.
Julia Season 1 Release Date
The streaming service has announced that the series will debut on Thursday, March 31, with the first three episodes. The rest of the season will be released weekly, through May 5.
