Jurassic Park was a huge success, with three hit films in the original Jurassic Park film series. It took 14 years to reboot the franchise, with Jurassic World releasing in 2015. It was a direct sequel to the first Jurassic Park film of 1993. The film was a huge success, and a sequel, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom released in 2018. Although the second film did not receive great critics reviews, it did collect $1.3 billion at the global box-office. A third film, titled Jurassic World: Dominion will complete the Jurassic World trilogy. Steven Spielberg, the director of the first two Jurassic Park films, has served as executive producer on all three Jurassic World films.

The film will be directed by Colin Trevorrow, based on a screenplay by him and Emily Carmichael. Trevorrow previously directed the first Jurassic World film, and served as writer on Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Chris Pratt returns as Owen Grady; as does Bryce Dallas Howard, as Claire Dearing. The film will see cast from the first Jurassic Park film reprise their roles. These include Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Although Jeff Goldblum did appear in Fallen Kingdom, it was only a cameo appearance. This time, however, he plays a major role in Dominion.

Other returning cast members of Jurassic World: Dominion include Daniella Pineda as Zia Rodriguez, Justice Smith as Franklin Webb, Isabella Sermon as Maisie Lockwood and BD Wong as Dr. Henry Wu. Jake Johnson, Omar Sy and Campbell Scott join the cast as Lowery Cruthers, Barry Sembène and Dr. Lewis Dodgson respectively. Other cast members include Dichen Lachman, Scott Haze, Mamoudou Athie and DeWanda Wise.
Release Date of Jurassic World 3
The filming of Jurassic World: Dominion began in February 2020 but was halted in early March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Filming resumed in July 2020. Jurassic World: Dominion is scheduled to release June 11, 2021 by Universal Pictures.
