Jurassic World: Dominion’s director Colin Trevorrow has revealed exciting details about his new film “Atlantis”, says Deadline. Jurassic World: Dominion will be the first movie to re-start its production amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, the production will start this mid-July. Meanwhile, Colin Trevorrow is teaming up with Universal pictures again to direct and produce a new thriller about the mythical city “Atlantis”. The movie will be of the same name and Trevorrow’s own production company- Metronome film Co.
The script will be written by Dante Harper, who has penned scripts for films like All You Need Is Kill, Alien: Covenant, Forever, Rogue One among many others. The concept and story are devised by Trevorrow himself with Matt Charman, who you might know from Bridge of Spies.
Trevorrow has commented that he already thought about the concept in 2018 but believed that more research and work have to be followed. So, he let the idea sit for a while as his team devised and imagined the “know-how” of the mythical world. According to Trevorrow, the city “Atlantis” in his new project won’t be the conventional Greek city under the ocean. He is trying to build the concept around a lost continent in the Indian Ocean between Africa, India, and Oceania. It is a multicultural civilization with its own advanced technology.
“Dominion” is also on its way as the script is complete and the shoot re-starts this mid-July. Bryce Dallas Howard, after reading the script with her husband said that it was “awesome” and “exhilarating.”. Trevorrow’s creative team for “Atlantis” is spearheaded by the experienced production designer Kevin Jenkins (Star wars episode IX and Jurassic World: Dominion).
“Atlantis” will be the second project that Metronome will collaborate with Universal Studios. The first is Space Opera, a musical with producer Marc Platt based on Catherynne Valente’s book. While “Atlantis” is still budding, we will look out for more news. Till then Jurassic World: Dominion, resumes shoot and is set to hopefully release on July 11, 2021.
Jurassic World: Dominion will be Resuming Production during the Pandemic!
