Killing Eve concluded its third season this Sunday. The finale took the fans by awe and surprise, as the season ended on an intimate introspective note, which was quite unusual for BBC America’s spy drama if we look back at the rest of the show. Eve and Villanelle were finally upfront and honest about their future together as a couple, but mutually agreed to part their ways from each other. Although neither of them could help to look back at each other one last time after they started walking away. What is waiting for them in season 4?
Release Date
With season 3 just winding up, we can expect season 4 to premiere in the same release window next year. But with the ongoing pandemic crisis enforcing strict social distancing measures, it is difficult to make an exact guess about the release date as of now. However, with lockdown restrictions gradually loosening up worldwide, the show might manage to make it to launch its next season same time next year.
Cast
Except for Carloyn’s son Kenny (Sean Delaney), who was murdered in the third season’s very first episode, we can expect the rest of the major cast to return for the fourth run. Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh will return as Villanelle and Eve respectively, alongside Fiona Shaw as Carolyn Martens, Kim Bodnia as Konstantin, and Gemma Whelan as Geraldine. The chances of Villanelle’s former trainer Dasha Duzran played by Harriet Walter are also low, as showrunners are not very keen on resurrecting her after her heart stopped in this season.
Plot
Killing Eve fans, we have some good news. Sex Education writer Laura Neal will lead Killing Eve’s writing team for the fourth season. We will not be mistaken if we expect Eve Villanelle to get more intimate in a yet more complicated way with each other in the next season, alongside new trouble awaiting them. We might see situations where one of them is in deadly trouble and the other one is to make the difficult call of whether to save her; if yes, then figure out why and how.
