Law and Order Season 21: Release date, Cast, Plot, Trailer, and More!

Law & Order will be making a comeback to the small screen after 11 and a half years since it was canceled. Instead, the media giant picked up Law & Order: Los Angeles and renewed Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for Season 12. 456 episodes in its original 20-season run, Law & Order came close to beating Gunsmoke‘s record for longest-running primetime drama before the original series was canceled in May 2010.
Reports reveal that Law & Order Season 21 would be written by the show’s original creator, Dick Wolfe, and writer-showrunner, Rick Eid.

Law and Order Season 21: Cast and Plot!

Sam Waterston, who led the cast of Law & Order for 16 years will officially return as District Attorney Jack McCoy for Season 21. Law & Order mastermind Dick Wolf said in a statement that the return of Waterston and actor Anthony Anderson means the series can pick up exactly where it left off. Anderson was the first original Law & Order star to confirm his return to the series. Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan was the first confirmed cast member to join the revival, and he’ll be playing Det. Frank Cosgrove.

 

The plot is not revealed yet. But as per some rumors, the series would continue with its original format. The show’s premise will stay the same: a segment that shows police and detectives working on the case and another segment, which shows the courtroom proceedings.

Law & Order will return to kick off L&O Thursdays starting on February 24 on NBC. The first episode of the Law & Order reboot will premiere on Thursday, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
