Legally Blonde 3: Release Date, Cast and more updates!

It has been 17 years since the second Legally Blonde film dropped, and no one can forget the cheerfulness of Elle Woods. A third film was announced by MGM in 2018, and it has since been in development. However, there has been positive news about the third film, and it is believed that the third Legally Blonde film will be an entirely new screenplay; kind of like a spinoff from the original. Legally Blonde 3 will be produced by Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine Studios. The producer of the first two films, Mark E. Platt, will also be back for the third film.

Cast of Legally Blonde 3

Reese Witherspoon will be reprising her role of the famous Harvard educated lawyer Elle Woods. We also expect to see Bruiser Woods in the third film. The role was played by the chihuahua called Moonie. Jennifer Coolidge will also be returning to her role of Paulette Bonafonté from the first Legally Blonde film. The return of Jennifer Coolidge was confirmed by Witherspoon herself, in an interview in December 2019. We can also expect the return of Emmett Richmond, which was played by Luke Wilson, and that of Vivian Kensington, played by Selma Blair. Alanna Ubach and Jessica Cauffiel are also expected to reprise their respective roles of Serene McGuire and Margot Chapman.

Details surrounding other members of the cast have not been revealed yet. However, we will be seeing Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor take over as the co-writers of the film.

Reese Witherspoon had annouced the third Legally Blonde film via an Instagram post, back in June 2018. Since then, there had been various reports that the film will be releasing on Valentine’s Day 2020. That day has since come and gone but we haven’t had Legally Blonde 3 yet. As of now, there is no official release date for Legally Blonde 3 yet. However, with major cast sorted and with scriptwriters on board, we can expect the film to release by 2021.
