Lego Masters is a competition reality television series on Fox. The show is based on the British series of the same name. The show is hosted by Will Arnett, who also serves as an executive producer on the show. Lego Group creative designers Amy Corbett and Jamie Berard serve as the judges on the show. The concept of Lego Masters is this-
“Teams of two LEGO enthusiasts go head-to-head, with infinite possibilities and an unlimited supply of LEGO bricks. Throughout the competition, host Will Arnett and expert judges encourage the amateur builders, introduce incredible challenges, and put the creations to the test. The competing pairs who impress the judges the most progress to the next round, until the finale, during which the top teams face off for a cash prize, the ultimate LEGO trophy and the grand title of LEGO Master.”
Lego Masters premiered on Fox on February 5, 2020. The first season ended on April 15, 2020, with ten episodes.
Lego Masters Season 2- What we know so far
The first season of Lego Masters was Fox’s top-rated new series in adults 18-49 and the adults 18-34 categories. The show had a demo rating of 1.13, with an average of 3.5 million viewers across its first season. In the list of Fox’s non-scripted shows for season 2019-20, Lego Masters stood at number 3 in terms of ratings and viewers.
The show has had good reviews as well. At the company’s investor earnings call, CEO of Fox, Lachlan Murdoch said that the folks at Fox have begun preparations for season 2 of Lego Masters. It is expected to have a midseason premiere date. The host of the show, Will Arnett has also stated his interest in a second season of the show, resonating his opinions with those of Murdoch.
“It was great to see Lachlan speak so supportively of the show. The feedback has been fantastic and so it would be exciting if we got to come back and make more episodes.”
Although the show has not yet been officially renewed for a second season, the ratings and rumors all suggest that it will be. Lego Masters Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in mid-2021.
