Lenovo has finally unveiled the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT recently in an event in China. It is the world’s first phone to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 855. Though the company previously mentioned in teasers that it will have more than 8GB RAM, it packs more than we expected.
The smartphone is one of the fastest devices out there having a top-notch specification and has racing vibes in its design. The rear panel sports a glass back with a carbon fiber pattern along with red accents that are added to the rim of the top side, rear cameras and also in the bottom half of the slider.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT features a 6.4 inch 2340×1080 AMOLED display with 19:5:9 aspect ratio, 403 PPI and an in-display fingerprint scanner. It comes with a six double helix sliding mechanism that hides a dual selfie camera setup leading to a high screen-to-body ratio of 95.06%. Under the hood, it houses the top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with Adreno 640 and will be available in four configurations: 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM, 8GB RAM + 256GB ROM and the highest variant with 12GB RAM + 512GB internal storage. The 6GB/128GB variant will be a limited edition that will have Chinese actor Zhu Yilong’s autograph. With these specifications, the phone is an absolute beast and can handle almost anything you throw at it.
The rear AI-powered camera setup consists of a 24 million (4 in 1) + 16MP Sony sensors while the selfie cameras are of 16MP + 8MP configuration. The rear camera is equipped with a 1.8µm ultra-large pixel high sensitivity imaging sensor that enhances low light photos. The handset runs Android 9 Pie and is only available in a single Carbon Black color option.
As for the price, the lowest 6GB/128GB costs CNY 2698 (Rs 27,500 approx), the 8GB/128GB at CNY 2,998 (Rs 30,500 approx), the 8GB/256GB variant costs CNY 3,398 (Rs 34,800 approx) while the top variant with 12GB/256GB configuration comes at a price tag of CNY 4,398 (Rs 45,064 approx). The pre-orders start from January 15, 2019, at 10:00 and will go on sale from January 24 from the official company’s website and local retailers like Jingdong and Tmall. As of now, the Chinese company is yet to give a word on the smartphone’s launch outside the Chinese market.
