Loki was one of the most highly anticipated series that premiered on Disney+ back in 2021. It managed to receive a decent feedback from critics and audiences and considering that, the makers eventually renewed the show for another season.

The first season of the series premiered on June 9, 2021. The main storyline of the series was set after the events of Avengers: Endgame where we witnessed the alternate version of Loki running away from the clutches of the authorities and facing a trial for committing crimes against the Sacred Timeline. The second season is all set to premiere soon.

The first season of the series ended with a lot of questions left unanswered. A multiverse war began because of Sylvie and Loki was trapped in another timeline. A dangerous variant of He Who Remains was born who might unleash terror on the timelines.

The timeline where Loki gets stranded has a statue of Kang the Conqueror and possibly Kang is now TVA’s leader and other timelines. Mobius and Hunter could not identify Loki but Sylvie possibly remembers Loki because she transferred Loki to this timeline after murdering Kang. Ravonna and Kang will reportedly be portrayed as lovers this time and Loki will possibly bring everyone at TVA together to defeat Kang.

The cast members who have been confirmed so far for the second season include Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Eugene Cordero, Tara Strong, Owen Wilson, Sophia Di Martino, Ke Huy Quan, Rafael Casal and Kate Dickie.

Loki Season 2 Release Date

Season 1 of Loki was released through Disney+ on June 9, 2021 and it had six episodes in total. A second season was in works even before the first season premiered and it was later confirmed by the makers.

The second season of the series is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2023 and a specific release date has not been announced yet. Eric Martin has been hired to write the screenplay and the episodes will be helmed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead.
